Label Technician I

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will be responsible for the printing, movement and proper storage of all production labeling, as well as the accuracy of the inventory and transactions within the inventory system. This position works within the MRP system to ensure the availability of Instruction For Use (IFU)’s and blank label stock. The Label Technician will follow all Label and inventory processes and procedures with an emphasis on quality, accuracy, and continuous workflow. In addition, this person will be required to participate in all physical inventory activities. The Label Technician position may also be required to be cross trained to the Inventory Control Associate job description to assist with picking of orders.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
- Fulling understanding of how to use label software to print our product labels
- Must complete the reconciliation forms in Master Control for IFUs and printing of labels for verification and accuracy
- Must maintain inventory of blank and pre-printed label stock
- Must maintain inventory of preprinted Instruction For Use (IFU) booklets
- Put away received labels and IFU’s from Receiving
- Put away IFU returns from production
- Issue product labels and IFU’s to each manufacturing work order
- Report activity and workflow to material control supervisor
- Perform other material control activities as assigned by supervisor.
- Demonstrates a high level of understanding of the inventory system in GP, with ability to train less experience members of the staff
- Demonstrates the ability to work independently and achieve a high level of work volume and accuracy
- Demonstrates the ability to complete cycle counts timely and accurately
- Responsible for the integrity of system inventory data for their assigned areas of responsibility
- Responsible to maintain records as required by the quality system
- To identify and communicate material issues and shortages that may disrupt production activities
- Responsible for the organization and cleanliness of their assigned inventory areas

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Ability to learn Label Software
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience in related field
- Computer/data entry skills
- Excellent organizational and verbal communication skills
- Able to multi-task
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Material Control Experience
- Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Past experience working with inventory and making transactions in computers
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to regularly walk, sit, or stand as required
- Ability to occasionally bend and push/pull
- Ability to regularly lift up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift over 25 pounds
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
