Position Overview:

Manage Villara’s Residential Paid Service HVAC and Plumbing Department. Recruit, hire, and manage Service Technicians and Residential Retrofit salespeople. Develop implement and manage adherence to company policies. Lead the team to grow revenue and manage profitability. Provide service that meets and/or exceeds industry standards while meeting labor and profit goals of the department. To be successful as a Service Manager, you should display a strong sales-minded attitude as well as excellent leadership skills. 

Responsibilities of the Job:

  • Manage Technicians and Retrofit Salespeople to grow revenue of Paid Service repair and Retro Replacement sales to meet corporate goals.
  • Development and delivery of Technician sales, technical, and safety training programs.
  •  Respond to customer concerns, surfaced through complaint calls, emails, satisfaction surveys, and social media posts.
  • Promote company guiding principles and key strategies including LEAN
  • Utilize business benchmarks as well as leading and key success factors for direction and reporting department activities and decisions.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exits.
  • When required, put on tools and participate in work activities to “off-set” supervision costs.
  • Provide regular updates to the Director of Residential Service regarding performance against Revenue and Labor budgets.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk, reach and be directly involved with on-site inspections of building projects under construction, tours with various suppliers or vendors of sites and their facilities.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Subject to adverse weather conditions – extreme heat and cold.
  • Job sites can be loud and dusty
  • Able to use basic hand tools and power tools.
  • Must be able to travel from job site to job site
  • Must be able to ascend ladders to heights of eight feet or higher, and descend ladders, scaffolding, stairs, and inclined surfaces. Able to work in high areas including rafters and roofs. 

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA) from a four-year College or university; or five years related HVAC/Plumbing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

Experience: 

  • HVAC: 5 years (Required)
  • Management: 5 years (Required)
  • Sales: 5 years (Required)

Language: 

  • English (required)
  • Spanish (preferred)

 

 License/Certification:

  • EPA Type II (Required)
