Data Infrastructure & Operations Director

We are seeking an experienced Data Infrastructure & Operations Director to lead our data architecture and operations initiatives. This role will be instrumental in driving our data strategy, ensuring robust infrastructure scalability, and implementing cutting-edge solutions to support our growing platform. The Director will leverage existing, new, and emerging data technologies to innovate and adapt to evolving business and operational models, emphasizing the development of data roadmaps, and effectively communicating these plans. Key Responsibilities: 

• Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of our enterprise data infrastructure  

• Architect and oversee Microsoft SQL Server environments, including Azure SQL and other database technology deployments and their backup and replication strategies  

• Optimize database replication strategies for high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR)  

• Design and implement comprehensive monitoring and alerting systems for the entire data environment, including performance metrics, availability monitoring, and proactive issue detection  

• Design and optimize stored procedures for maximum performance and scalability  

• Develop and maintain data integration frameworks using SSIS and other ETL tools as we transition to next generation approaches  

• Drive the adoption and implementation of Microsoft Fabric across the organization, leveraging its capabilities for enhanced data integration and analytics  

• Lead experimental initiatives to evaluate and prototype new data technologies, products, and services, driving successful solutions into production to enhance organizational capabilities and enable advanced analytics and insights  

• Spearhead the adoption of advanced AI technologies, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), to revolutionize data analytics capabilities and deliver actionable business insights  

• Lead a team of database engineers and data infrastructure specialists  

• Ensure adherence to data security best practices, compliance standards, and governance policies  

• Manage secure data storage and access while maintaining system integrity  

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and partners to ensure data infrastructure supports business objectives  

Required Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field  

• 7+ years of experience in data infrastructure and operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role  

• Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, including Azure SQL implementations, and other Database technologies (e.g. MySQL)  

• Extensive experience with database high availability and disaster recovery solutions, and database monitoring  

• Strong background in SSIS and ETL processes  

• Proven experience with stored procedure development and optimization  

• Experience with Microsoft Fabric or similar modern data platforms  

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose complex database and infrastructure issues  

• Proven ability to explore and implement innovative technologies in a dynamic environment  

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience with AI and machine learning implementations, particularly RAG systems  

• Knowledge of vector databases and their applications  

• SaaS Experience in healthcare or senior living  

• Microsoft certifications in relevant areas  

• Experience with cloud-based data solutions and architectures  

• Background in implementing data governance frameworks
