Staff Accountant
Aline is seeking a motivated Staff Accountant to support the day-to-day Order to Cash responsibilities and help establish scalable processes that impact the entire organization. The Staff Accountant will collaborate with individuals and teams across the organization to review, enter, and manage accounting transactions, as well as ensure compliance with GAAP and the accuracy and integrity of financial systems and reporting.
The ideal candidate must work well in a fast-paced environment and be able to prioritize responsibilities in a rapidly growing and dynamic company. The Staff Accountant will have excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills, as well as a passion for continually learning and being proactive in identifying and assisting with the implementation of processes to strengthen the accounting function. The Staff Accountant must also have great attention to detail and a professional presence when interacting with internal and external stakeholders. This position will report to the VP, Controller.
Responsibilities
- Manage the Order to Cash process in accordance with ASC 606 and internal policies, including: reviewing and validating contracts, analyzing performance obligations and pricing, preparing invoices, establishing system records, acquiring approvals, and posting customer payments.
- Actively manage Accounts Receivable to ensure account accuracy and decrease DSO. This includes initiating and responding to customer inquiries and cross-collaborating with Sales, Customer Success, and Product
- Prepare, review, and approve necessary journal entries, account reconciliations, and support schedules as part of the monthly close process
- Research accounting guidance and document Company’s position on various Staff transactions
- Assist with necessary tax compliance activities. This includes preparing, reviewing, and submitting timely state and local tax returns and sales tax returns
- Create, improve, and document general processes for accounting transactions and functions
- Assist with identifying risks, implementing controls, and maintaining supporting documentation to ensure compliance with GAAP
- Provide support for our year-end audit, tax compliance, and the annual budget process
- Complete special requests and ad-hoc projects, as needed
Requirements
- 2-4 years of experience in a similar or related role in a dynamic or startup environment (preferably SaaS)
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, CPA preferred
- Strong understanding and knowledge of U.S. GAAP Staff recognition rules, specifically ASC 606
- Expertise using Microsoft Office (Excel) and other Microsoft products
- Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
- Able to effectively prioritize, meet established goals, and perform in a fast and dynamic environment
- Ability to proactively and independently identify and resolve issues in a timely fashion
- Able to work independently and collaboratively
- Able to maintain confidentiality of information and exercise good judgment
- Meticulous attention to detail and excellent critical thinking

- Familiarity with NetSuite or similar ERP and integrated software (e.g., Salesforce, Zone)
