Job Summary:
As the Senior ETL Developer at kdc/one, you will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining D&A solutions. This includes collaborating with internal and external stakeholders and partners in the end-to-end process of developing data-driven insights to support business decisions. You will also be responsible of establishing development and deployment standards and to help align current and future D&A solutions to such standards. You will also be interacting with external partners to make sure new development and deployment standards are consistently applied and followed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leading D&A Solution development, deployment, and maintenance: Gathers business requirements for BI tools and translates them into technical specifications. This also involves determining which solutions will be designed and built internally vs. externally.
- Establishing development standards: Ensures development and deployments standards are implemented and followed to ensure consistency across D&A Projects, data management, data architecture and data infrastructure.
- ETL Development: Design, develop, implement, and expand ETL pipelines by performing Extract, Transformation and Load activities. This also includes investigating data issues within ETL pipelines, communicating and notifying the end-users and proposing solutions to address the issues.
- Data Governance: Assist with assessing and designing the data governance and data management framework across the organization.
- Data Quality: Establish, design, and implement procedures for data quality tracking and for improvement by working in collaboration with the business stakeholders. This also includes working with the business to deliver accurate, high-quality data in the D&A solutions.
- Dashboarding and Reporting: Design, develop and maintain dashboards and reports that are providing data-driven insights to support business decisions. This also involves supporting the business in correcting data quality issues at the source.
- Strategy And Planning: Develops short-term tactical D&A solutions to help achieve long-term objectives aligned with D&A Strategy and D&A roadmap.
- D&A Architecture: Assist in designing scalable and maintainable data architecture. This also includes work on modernizing current kdc/one data stack towards a cloud data warehouse solution.
Qualifications:
Education Required:
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, computer science, data science or related field, or equivalent work experience. Academic qualifications or professional training and experience are also desirable.
Experience Required:
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in ETL development and data management.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with Microsoft SQL suite of products (SSIS etc.).
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with relational and dimensional databases.
- Familiarity with PowerBI, Git.
Skills Required:
- SQL knowledge including T-SQL, performance-tuning, indexing etc.
- Knowledge of data modeling principles.
- Ability to coordinate and manage resources for a specific project.
- Demonstrated organizational skills: time management and planning.
- Familiar with big data technologies and modern Cloud Data warehousing tools.
- Knowledge of trends and developments in the fields of data management and data analytics.
- Effective written and oral communication skills. Bi-lingual (French/English) preferred.
- Passionate about problem solving.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new technology and tools.
