Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Warehouse Manager is a key member of the local Supply Chain leadership team. The Warehouse Manager is responsible for managing all warehousing operations (inbound, internal movements and outbound activities) for Griffith Foods Canada.
Through a team of supervisors and 40+ indirect reports, the Warehouse Manager is responsible for achieving operating targets related to customer service, inventory accuracy, inventory protection, efficiencies, transactional integrity, budget adherence, health and safety, good manufacturing practices, and employee engagement.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develops and maintains strong inventory management practices.
- Initiates, develops and implements warehouse improvement projects.
- Works closely with the Production, Planning and Logistics teams to meet customer expectations (OTIF).
- Through multi-disciplinary teams, conduct root cause analysis on any warehouse related problems.
- Ensure warehousing transactions are executed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Leads physical inventory counts and continuous cycle counting activities.
- Work alongside the Logistics team to develop third party warehousing partners.
- Ensures that all Health and Safety and GMP related requirements are met.
- Leads, coaches and develops a large team with 3 shift operations which included shipping/receiving and picking.
- Promotes and enhances a positive work environment including efforts to continuously improve teamwork and establish high levels of employee involvement.
- Acts as a back up to other managers on the Supply Chain Management Team.
- Administers and manages annual budget.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field – Required.
- 2-5 years warehouse management experience or equivalent – Required.
- Must be flexible with schedule operating within a 24/7 environment.
- Excellent people leadership and development skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Education and/or experience in Lean / Six Sigma is highly desirable.
