Ridgewood is a subdivision of Ameriwood Home, a division of the Dorel Home segment of Dorel Industries, who specializes in domestically manufactured and imported RTA furniture sold through the brick & mortar sales channel throughout the United States and Canada. For our Cornwall facility, we are searching for a:

Edge Bander Set-Up Operator

(3rd Shift - 11:00PM - 7:30AM)

$21.20/hr. plus $2.00/hr. shift premium

Job Summary:

• Set up all workstations from tape feed to final buffing and staining.
• Safely operate machines to ensure production rates are met.
• Replace tooling, including front and rear end trimming blades, fine and rough trimming cutters, buffing wheels.
• Respond to calls to adjust machines.
• Preventative maintenance such as greasing, cleaning of edge shavings inside the machine, around change and pressure belt, cleaning of glue shaft.
• Replenish edge banding when not on call.
• Set up machine optimally for upcoming orders.
• Replace employees for washroom breaks.
• Set up label machine.
• Help train and guide new employees (laborers or operators) with the proper operation of respective machines.
• Perform other related tasks.

Requirements:

• Obtain a passing grade on a written and practical test.
• Ability to master the operator’s manuals.
• Demonstrate the ability to use and understand a metric/imperial measuring tool such as measuring tape and caliper.
• Able to interpret engineering drawings.

• Excellent attendance record.
• Willingness to work overtime when required.
• Able to work with minimum supervision.
• Able to distinguish colors and small details.
• Position requires continuous standing, bending, walking and stairs.
• Physically fit and able to lift 25 kg.
• Basic computer skills.
