Overview 

As a leader within the Technology and Product Management Team, you will join a tightly knit and high performing group of industry veterans shepherding complex and highly integrated products to market.    

As a Product Owner, Air Media at Crestron, you will drive the development of industry leading products including AirMedia™ wireless presentation and conferencing technologies, streaming video and digital signage solutions, and more. You will lead the evolution of these products from ideation through launch in a dynamic, creative, and fast-paced environment. Your responsibilities will include product planning, writing and implementing product requirements, championing the product through the development cycle, and continuing through supporting sales and marketing efforts during new product and feature rollouts. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Serve as a product and subject matter expert across the organization.  

  • Define and groom the feature backlog to ensure development is in alignment with strategic goals of the company and work is prioritized in a way that brings the most value to our customers.  

  • Write detailed user stories and requirements for new features and new products.  

  • Lead agile teams through the development process to realize the product roadmap. 

  • Work with the quality engineering team to define acceptance criteria and refine test plans. 

  • Manage technical issues escalated to engineering and monitor customer support trends to maintain a high-quality product.  

  • Keep abreast of the competitive landscape and technology trends. 

  • Use industry knowledge in conjunction with competitive research to help the product management team craft and refine the product roadmap. 

  • Work with departments including marketing, sales, training, and support to ensure product success.  

  • Present software, hardware, and integrated solutions virtually or in-person (as required). 

  • Participate in industry trade shows and other key market events. 

 

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Proficiency with, and knowledge of, enterprise technologies including wireless collaboration and presentation, digital signage, and related software, management tools, and services. 

  • Proficiency with, and knowledge of, unified communications platforms from providers such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, and Cisco WebEx, including both software and hardware UC solutions.  

  • Proficiency with, and knowledge of, networking technologies, streaming video protocols, video processing, and distributed video technologies. 

  • Self-starter with proven ability to learn new technologies and an ability to quickly put that into practice in support of highly visible real-world projects.  

  • Be able to research, and become an expert, on new technologies relevant to the product line. 

  • Be the customer champion to drive solutions that exceed customer expectations.  

  • Be the product evangelist assisting in driving adoption and sales.  

  • Great organizational skills, and the ability to multitask effectively.  

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and the ability to lead team meetings, set expectations, and hold people accountable for delivering the expected product. 

  • Team player with visible company spirit. Demonstrable ability to quickly gain the trust of key stakeholders, end-users, and co-workers alike. 

  • Ability to be hands-on and travel occasionally to job sites to see how our products are installed/applied and be able to translate that experience into a better product.  

  • Preferred experience with Scrum, or other Agile methodologies.  

 

Ideal Experience & Education: 

  • 3+ years experience in a technical role (product engineering, product management, technical sales, support, etc.) in the AV/ UC industry. 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or Engineering preferred but not required. 

  • Certification in Agile Development (Scaled Agile, CSM, etc.) is preferred but not required 

  • Relevant industry training, learning, and certifications are preferred but not required 

  • Experience working with a globally distributed team preferred.
