About the Job:

The Manager, Analytics and Reporting will oversee the analysis and modeling of transportation networks and document findings to support the development of logistics service value propositions and continuous improvement. The Manager, Analytics and Reporting will also manage the reporting to Clients, both external and internal, with which they can perform strategic and short-term Supply Chain decision making.

 

In This Role, You Will:

  • Develop and establish direction for analytics and reporting
  • Responsible for the group that provides all Clients with reporting
  • Conduct detailed analysis of supply chain costs and service. Build and execute logistics and supply chain models. Analyze findings and document recommended actions.
  • Coordinate between Management, technical resources, and operations resources throughout the life cycle of a project.
  • Responsible for uncovering/collecting/analyzing outside or public information that can enhance the insight of metrics generated with OLT Data.
  • Coordinate the extracting and presenting Odyssey’s multi-modal data from various sources in various formats.
  • Responsible for developing and selecting Supply Chain Analysis Tools for use in everyday projects; Provide recommendations as new tools come into the marketplace.
  • Responsible for providing standardized reports for inside and outside clients
  • Responsible for data handling, manipulation and execution of various logistics projects.
  • Responsible for providing input specifications to Odyssey’s IT application development and system integrity feedback.
  • Work with Data Warehouse developers to find data quality issues and aid in systemic elimination of data elements provided incorrectly by Clients
  • Responsible for communicating to customers about project status and deliverables.
  • Assign projects to Logistics Analysts as needed
  • Defining projects including charter development and project plan layout, as needed
  • Create reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders using Excel and visualization tools.
  • Clean, transform, and prepare raw data for analysis, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
  • Will identify logistics areas for process improvement and cost savings to ensure expectations are met.
  • Collaborate with associates to improve efficiency, productivity and processes.
  • Oversee preparation of statistical data for contract negotiations
  • Evaluate existing capabilities and establish new processes for analytical projects.
  • Manage benchmarking activities.
  • Work with counterparts to ensure understanding of outcomes derived from logistical analysis.
  • Manage staff in accordance with OL&T's policies and applicable regulations.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science in logistics, transportation, operations management, operations research, finance, economics, or engineering required.
  • The candidate is highly motivated and has a solid understanding of transportation and logistics principles, economics, and supply chain network behavior. Desire to work in a highly visible role that will interact with individuals at all organizational levels, internal and external.
  • 7 - 10 years’ experience in supply chain analytics is required
  • Working knowledge of Transportation Management Systems, implementation methodologies, systems integration, communications technologies, and relational database design.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and sales skills as well as management of multiple personnel and projects. Superior “hands-on" problem solving skills are essential.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information to higher level management personnel and non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and derive actionable insights.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Qlik, Tableau, Power BI, or similar, and ability to create compelling visualizations to communicate insights effectively.
  • Possess a high level of competency and demonstrable skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Working knowledge of network modeling software is a plus.
  • Understand transportation optimization techniques including mode selection, freight consolidation, load building, efficient routing, and pool distribution.
  • Knowledge of logistics data such as bill of lading information, rate tables, mileage standards, commodity classes, LTL tariffs, etc.
  • Excellent ability to prioritize and manage multiple critical projects simultaneously.
  • Team player who seeks continuous improvement.
  • Certifications such as Six Sigma or APICS is a plus.

 

Location: This is an in-office role based in Charlotte, NC with a hybrid schedule
