The position is based in Chicago with up to 50% travel. Candidate should have extensive experience in warehousing and transportation including trucking, rail, and intermodal. Ideal candidate will have experience in transload/cross dock operations and freight consolidation.

About the Job:
The position of Sales Manager will have the primary responsibility of selling and providing added services to achieve the company’s sales goals and objectives. The Sales Manager will execute strategic sales plans to drive business growth, with a focus on acquiring new clients and maintaining strong relationships with existing ones. This role will drive sales growth in the consumer warehousing and transportation industry.
In This Role, You Will:
- Identify profitable markets.
- Determine customer needs & volume potential.
- Execute sales strategies & objectives that match operational capabilities.
- Build new business.
- Expand business with existing clients.
- Maintain a positive client relationship.
- Monitor the market for competitor’s services.
- Participate in contract negotiations.
- Represent company at trade shows or industry meetings.

Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Experience in freight transload industry a plus
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, with a focus on consumer warehousing, freight transload and consolidation, logistics, or related industries.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets in a competitive environment.
- Strong understanding of trucking, rail, intermodal services, transload/cross-docking operations, and freight consolidation services.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze market trends and develop actionable sales plans.
- Ability to travel domestically as needed.
- Proficiency in relevant software applications such as CRM systems and Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience with Salesforce is a plus.
