Title:                            Purchasing Analyst

Reports to:                 Purchasing Manager

Department:               Purchasing

Supervises:                 N/A

Organizational Relationships:          

Operations, Finance, Vendors, Customers, Warehouses, Customer service

Basic Function: 

Use MRP data & customer information to execute the timely purchase & receipt of materials.  Identify cost savings opportunities related to items purchases.  Manage inventory levels in both $s and turns. Ownership of purchasing process from order entry to material release.

Responsibilities

  1. Analyzing and evaluating purchasing data and trends to identify cost savings and improvement opportunities
  2. Negotiating with suppliers to obtain the best prices, terms, and quality for the company
  3. Preparing and issuing purchase orders and contracts in accordance with company policies and procedures
    1. Includes management of materials purchased from procurement to release
    2. Purchasing responsibilities will include management of a single large customer or many small customers, or a combination of both, as needed
    3. Responsibility for management of tertiary packaging procurement for facility
  4. Monitoring and tracking the status of orders and deliveries and resolving any issues or discrepancies
    1. Includes management of rejects, returns, pricing discrepancies, freight claims, etc
  5. Maintaining and updating the purchasing records and databases
    1. Includes Supplier Master Data such as lead times, wait times, contact information, MOQ, etc
  6. Collaborating with other departments and stakeholders to ensure the alignment of purchasing activities with the company's goals and objectives
    1. Including recommendations of items for disposition due to inactivity or expiration
    2. Expediting material receipts to meet schedule needs
    3. Maintaining appropriate item pricing and supplier files
  7. Acting as purchasing lead for new bid process within I2P system
    1. Includes both pricing estimates and actual bid of new and existing materials
    2. Managing of new bids for Pure Buy (Full Service) component sourcing from component selection, pricing, sourcing, purchasing, to receipt
    3. Primary lead on PED related projects (Partner Enabled Development from sourcing, artwork coordination, to sizing and specification review
  8. Primary lead for managing CISPO process for customer supplied material deliveries
  9. All other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  1. Business degree or equivalent combination of education & experience.
  2. Minimum 2 years’ experience using MRP in fast paced manufacturing environment.
  3. Excellent analytical, math, time management, & organizational skills.
  4. Excellent verbal communication skills.
    1. Demonstrated experience in negotiation
  5. Demonstrated MS Office skills (in particular Excel).
  6. Cost Analysis, Lean Manufacturing, Kanban/MinMax training desirable.
