OLEFIN I PLANT OFFICE OPERATIONS STAFF II
I. POSITION OBJECTIVE
To provide leadership and support to the operations personnel on the daily activities for the Olefins Division. To assure high quality product to our downstream customer. To meet production targets set by our management. To make sure that all personnel in our facility are following policies and procedures pertaining to safe work practices. To meet the environmental quality standards by reducing emissions to the environment. To produce Daily Production Reports and manage daily and monthly inventory.
II. MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
Process Troubleshooting: Review all daily logs, Supervisory logs, electronic data trends and supporting records to ensure proper operation of critical Unit process equipment. Collaborate with maintenance unit personnel to identify process equipment abnormal root causes. Assist operations personnel in troubleshooting to correct abnormalities and deficiencies as needed.
Improvement Project Coordination: Evaluate unit for process deficiencies to identify root causes. Identify improvement to eliminate or minimize deficiencies. Propose projects to implement. Follow-up to ensure timely completions. Ensure completion of pre-startup safety reviews prior to commissioning. Coordinate commissioning and startup. Monitor benefits realized by improvements implemented. Facilitate project closures to meet prescribed time schedules.
Shutdown/Loss Reporting: Prepare accurate and complete shutdown loss related reports while ensuring submittal within requested timeframes. Coordinate with operations personnel, maintenance personnel and corporate accountants to capture all applicable costs attributed to Olefins I.
Department Auditing: Conduct regular reporting audits, accounting audits, and field inspections of Olefins areas to identify areas of deficiency. Follow up on findings to ensure proper corrective action is taken in a timely manner.
Production Cost Analysis: Prepare accurate and complete daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual production related reports while ensuring submittal within the prescribed timeframes. Evaluate and troubleshoot production metering / sampling data with operations and maintenance personnel to deficiencies are identified and corrected in a timely manner. Collaborate and coordinate with suppliers, clients, customers, and corporate accountants to prevent accounting abnormalities and correct accounting errors promptly. Modify production accounting programs as needed to minimize report preparation and error potential
THM: Promote cleanliness and order through implementation of the Total Housekeeping Maintenance program. Emphasize the Nothing Touches the Ground program and the No Visual Pollution Program. Maintain the plant in like new condition.
III. QUALIFICATIONS
A. TECHNICAL JOB CRITERIA
1. Previous Related Experience Required
Ten (10) plus years of experience in petrochemical facility/refinery dependent upon
education. Olefins experience preferred.
2. Technical Skills Required To Perform This Job
1. Capable of working with computers.
2. Able to control the process on DCS (Process computers/controllers).
3. Capable of working on miscellaneous office machines (fax, copy, etc).
4. Project Management Skills.
5. Basic math and accounting skills.
3. Education
High school diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of 10 years of direct job-related experience Or Bachelor’s degree with 6 years of direct job-related experience; or Associate’s degree with 8 years of direct job-related experience.
4. Other Certification/Training Required To Gain Function-Related Technical Knowledge
• Will require training in Company Policies and Procedures after hire.
• Current employees must meet all technical and safety training requirements for the current position, as specified in the Master Training Plan.
