Product Development Engineer

Formosa Plastics Corporation, Texas, located in Point Comfort, Texas (jobsite), is looking for a full-time Product Development Engineer with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and 2 years related work experience. Job duties include refining and optimizing polymer coating processes to improve uniformity, thickness control, and overall performance, performing compatibility tests and determining optimal additive concentrations for different applications, planning and conducting scale-up trials for new polymer formulations from the laboratory to pilot scale and full-scale production, performing mechanical, thermal, and rheological tests on products to ensure that they meet customer's requirements, conducting root cause analysis on product failures and taking corrective actions, developing detailed technical datasheets, specifications, and safety datasheets for new products, and developing eco-friendly polymer formulations using bio-based materials and recyclable components.
