Planner - Polyolefins T/A Team
I. POSITION OBJECTIVE
This Planner position exists to optimize maintenance performance and support, as well as equipment reliability. This Planner position will work with Operations and Maintenance to develop a unit work item and develop a work scope for contractors to follow. Ensure all inspection and repair activities are implemented, planned and scheduled, recorded and documented. To oversee and direct contactor activities pre/during/post T/A’s. To monitor schedules to determine and correct possible delays in the schedule's critical path.
II. MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
Equipment Reliability: Provide Maintenance support to the Operating Unit which will enable the Unit to achieve smooth operation, manufacture high-quality products, and avoid unscheduled process interruptions. This will be achieved by utilizing best practices, benchmarking, planning, failure-root cause analysis, initiation and development of continuous improvement techniques, maintenance procedures, practices, and processes.
Safety and Environmental: Implement company safety policies and procedures, using employee training, work planning, audits, and other tools to ensure compliance with safety regulations and progress toward achieving the goal of zero injuries. Maintain equipment in such a manner as to eliminate environmental emissions, upsets, or unscheduled shutdowns which will result in zero non-conformances and zero emissions or releases.
Maintenance Performance: Successful maintenance and turnaround performance will result in a reduction of unscheduled work and toward achieving 100% planned and scheduled maintenance outage activities. This includes tracking inspection and repair documentation, and
ensuring QC documentation is obtained and verified. Establish and maintain historical files for equipment failures and performance maintenance.
Maintenance Support: Provide maintenance and turnaround support to the Operating Unit, and work with maintenance and contractors to ensure all required documentation complies with State and Federal Regulations.
Cost Control: Manage Maintenance Unit costs as measured by Monthly Management Reports Analysis of cost deviations and causes of costs; initiation of cost efficiencies; identification of inefficiencies and recommendations to correct; analyze budget trends, develop and recommend budget requirements; control overtime to below 3%.
Lead and Facilitate: Coordinate auxiliary works and blanket contracts to optimize downtime. Manage maintenance and turnaround costs, contractor overtime, and equipment. Collaboration: Integrate and utilize cross-function Internal Contact and External Contact resources to impact department goals and results optimally.
THM: Promote cleanliness and order through the implementation of the Total House Keeping Maintenance program. Emphasize Nothing Touch Ground program and No Visual Pollution program. Maintain the plant in like new condition.
III. QUALIFICATIONS
- 1 - 5 years of experience in the mechanical maintenance field depending on education. Experience in a Petrochemical plant or refinery as a pipe fitter/fabricator or API background preferred. Experience in planning and/or executing turnarounds or shutdowns is preferred. Be able to understand P&IDs and draw Piping Isometric drawings.
- High school diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of five (5) years of direct job-related experience required or Associate’s degree with three (3) years of direct job-related experience preferred or Bachelor’s degree with one (1) year of direct job-related experience preferred.
