Compensation
- Base: $70,000 - $85,000 / Annual
- Bonus: 10% Target Bonus
- Total Compensation (Base + Bonus): The successful candidate could reasonably expect a Total Compensation Package in the range of $77,000 - $102,000.
- Equity: This role is not eligible for equity opportunities, awards or grants.
Position Overview
Foundation Building Material’s (FBM) is currently seeking a dynamic, motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our growing Payroll team as a Payroll Analyst, focusing on ensuring the accuracy and compliance of payroll operations.
As the Payroll Analyst, you will be responsible for assisting with the accurate processing of multi-state payroll and providing analytical support to improve payroll operations. This role requires maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, as well as ensuring adherence to company policies. You will play a key role in identifying opportunities to optimize processes and enhance the employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Payroll Processing and Reconciliation
- Assist in the end-to-end payroll processing cycle, ensuring accuracy and compliance across multi-state operations.
- Reconcile payroll records and resolve discrepancies in employee data, earnings, and deductions.
- Partner with HR and Finance to ensure seamless data transfer and accurate payroll calculations.
- Compliance and Audit Support
- Ensure payroll processes adhere to federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, including tax regulations.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing and validating payroll records and reports.
- Monitor and implement changes in payroll legislation and best practices.
- Data Management and Reporting
- Maintain and analyze payroll data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.
- Generate custom reports for management and other departments as needed.
- Collaborate with the IT team to enhance payroll system functionality.
- Employee Support and Communication
- Serve as a point of contact for payroll-related inquiries, resolving employee issues promptly and professionally.
- Provide clear communication to employees regarding payroll policies, changes, and timelines.
- Process Improvement and Documentation
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve payroll processes, enhancing accuracy and efficiency.
- Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and documentation for payroll processes.
- Miscellaneous
- In this role, there may be special projects or other job duties assigned by Management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of payroll experience in a multi-state or multi-site organization.
- Proficiency with payroll software, preferably Ceridian Dayforce or other SaaS platforms.
- Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, wage and hour laws, and tax compliance.
- Advanced skills in Excel and familiarity with data analysis tools.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach.
- Working knowledge of FLSA, federal, state, and local wage and hour, and tax regulations.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
