Position Overview

Working with the Purchasing Manager to ensure the cost-effective purchase and availability of materials, supplies, equipment and services utilized by the company. Supports Purchasing Manager in the investigation and identification of vendors for materials, supplies, equipment and services utilized by the company.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintains services and meet inventory return goals by coordinating the ordering of materials on a timely basis.
  • Coordinates with the Purchasing Manager on issues to ensure customer satisfaction and inventory control.
  • Adheres to the purchasing policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Responsible for preparation in entering and administering purchase orders with accurate material descriptions, cost coding, pricing, and other appropriate data.
  • Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for adherence to company policy. 
  • Manages inventory through purchasing and quality control functions.
  • Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability.
  • Stays current and communicates on market conditions, industry trends and new product information.
  • Works closely with the Warehouse to make sure all of the product has arrived in great condition.
  • Tracks delinquent arrivals from purchase orders.
  • Support Our Foundation in the stated areas of Safety, Customer Focus, Teamwork, Integrity and being a Company of Choice for both employees and customers.
  • Other duties may be assigned

 

Other Responsibilities:

  • Assist sales personnel when needed.
  • Maintain operating knowledge of software system
  • Knowledge of basic construction materials.

Education/Experience / Licenses and Certifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent work experience and /or training
  • Prefer knowledge of basic construction materials
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Products

 

Requirements

  • After receipt of conditional offer of employment, must be able to pass drug screen/physical/background check.
