Position Overview

The Plumbing Service Technician will repair and troubleshoot toilets, faucets, sinks, etc. for residential and multi –family dwellings. The majority of calls will be after hours so flexibility with schedule is essential for this position. The Technician will be responsible for running router machine and camera for clogs. Basic computer skills will be require for data entry. Attention to detail is a must.

Technical Responsibilities of the Job

•      Maintain, diagnose and correct problems throughout the entire Plumbing system.

•      Perform maintenance on water heaters (solder copper supplies, run the vent, run T&P drain, hook up gas        line)

•      Install/Repair Tankless water heaters

•      Install drop in bath tubs (drain, solder, drill fiberglass or tile, mix mortar)

•      Faucets (install drains, copper or ABS traps, hook up supply lines)

•      Toilets (clean surface, install wax ring, assemble toilet base and tank)

•      Angle stops and drains (cut stub outs, tighten stops, glue or solder drain assemblies)

Training/Certification

  • At least 1 year of Plumbing experience (all stages rough, top-out and finish)

•      Able to solder copper pipe and fittings

•      Able to operate a drill

•      Some tools required (most provided)

•      Valid CA Driver’s License and Insurable DMV Record

•      Must have great analytical and troubleshooting skills

•      Mechanical knowledge, technical procedures, and government regulations and codes

•      Problem solving and quick conflict resolution skills

•      Excellent communication skills

•      Ability to read blueprints and charts and designs

•      Prior construction experience is a A +

•      Able to lift at least 50 lbs. and work at a fast pace

 Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Proficiency in mathematical concepts such as basic algebra and geometry.
  • Licensed repair plumber preferred
  • Registered drain cleaner preferred

Working conditions and management style:

  • Subject to adverse weather conditions – extreme heat and cold
  • Job sites can be loud and dusty
  • Able to use basic hand tools and power tools.
  • Must be able to travel from job site to job site
  • Must be able to transport tools and a ladder to multiple job sites if needed
  • Must be able to read building codes
  • Clean driving record.
  • Registered drain cleaner
  • Experienced and licensed repair plumber.
  • Able to exert physical strength necessary to move objects weighing eighty plus ponds from one level to another.
  • Employees in this position, must be able to time manage, and have the ability to lead self.
