JOB SUMMARY
The Division Manager Broad Market - Southern California will be responsible for managing all sales programming, strategy, and execution in Southern CA for the General Market division of Southern Glazer’s Wines and Spirits of Southern CA (SGWS). They will assist in achieving all volume, distribution goals, and National Program attainment for The Wine Group, Inc. portfolio of brands across the On and Off-Premise channels. The Southern CA Division Manager Broad Market will lead sell and execute brand standards and priorities across the division, while also handling key account responsibilities. This role will work closely with SGWS VP’s, Sales Directors, District Managers (DM), Key Account Managers (KAM), Account Executives, and Sales Representatives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Develop and implement On and Off premise Annual Operating Plan which includes financial, volume (shipments and depletions) and distribution objectives for Southern California
- Deliver desired results in the on-premise channel Scorecard and help team deliver total market Scorecard.
- Responsible for building and owning relationships with SGWS SoCal General Market channel leadership (VP’s, Sales Directors, District Managers, Key Account Managers, Account Executives, and Sales Representatives).
- Become lead point of contact for General Market, VP, Directors, DMs, and establish optimal business rhythm at all levels within SGWS.
- Ownership of strategy, pricing, and program execution in the on and off premise channels of trade for Regional, Hotel, Casino, and Independent accounts.
- Serve as market lead and point of contact for TWG on premise National Account and Independent Regional Account teams.
- Manage and track the execution of sales programming and leverage appropriate resources to achieve sales objectives.
- Lead effective distributor sales meetings with all levels of management.
- Develop annual phasing calendar, implement monthly focus brand goals through quota management to raise distributor awareness of our priority initiatives, and distributor execution share of mind, with measurable metrics.
- Be a thought leader; introduce creative sales execution concepts, share across state lines/regions if successful.
- Manage budgets in the following categories: Pricing, Incentives, Travel and Entertainment and other departmental expenses.
- Administrative Responsibilities:
- Complete and review monthly Scorecard reports (depletion and distribution) with SGWS VP, Directors, DM’s and KAM’s.
- Manage any necessary program trackers.
- Forecast Monthly Sales within the On and Off premise channels.
- Monitor and manage inventory to appropriate levels.
- Ensure all sales practices are compliant with state and company policies/law.

QUALIFICATIONS
- BA degree or equivalent experience and proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical skills utilizing various data analysis tools to be used in consultative selling and presentation situations.
- Preferred 5 or more years of sales experience in the alcoholic beverage industry or related business with knowledge and passion for both commercial and premium wines.
- Must have a strong understanding and working knowledge of the On and Off premise channels and distributor pricing structures.
- Must have understanding and working knowledge of alcoholic beverage industry retail environment.
- Intermediate to advanced wine knowledge or associated certifications preferred.
- Must be adaptive to change within organization and industry.

- Willing to travel with overnight stays as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Position operates in a professional office environment.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, standing, and twisting in the performance of various tasks.
- Must be able to repeatedly lift and carry weights up to 50 pounds at varying frequencies.
COMPENSATION
- Hiring Salary Range Posted: $100,000 - $150,000.
- Actual compensation will be based on factors such as experience; skills, knowledge, and abilities; education; and other position related factors.
