JOB SUMMARY
The Director, Learning and Organization Development is essential in creating and implementing strategies that enhance team member performance, foster a positive work culture, and drive organizational success. As TWG responds to challenges in our industry, the Director, Learning and Organization Development will be instrumental in advancing our capability building needs. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the potential to grow the scope and impact of this role resulting in enhanced organization investment in learning and development and with it, commensurate professional advancement.
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Learning and Organization Development Director to join our team. Reporting to the CHRO, as the Learning and Organization Development Director, you will play a critical role in driving organizational capability, enhancing team member engagement, and fostering a high-performance culture within our company. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing strategies and initiatives that align with our business goals and objectives. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading and executing Learning and Organization Development initiatives, exceptional leadership and communication skills, and a deep understanding of best practices in Learning and Organization Development.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Influence and champion enterprise-wide people priorities and practices as a member of the Human Resources Leadership Team (HRLT).
- Design, develop, and implement a comprehensive Learning and Organization Development strategy that aligns with the company's overall business goals and objectives. Measure impact and renovate appropriately.
- Partner with senior leaders, key stakeholders, and HRLT to identify and address Learning and Organization Development needs, gaps, and opportunities; lead, execute, and measure effectiveness of applicable solutions and iterate/revise as needed.
- Leverage learning and development methodologies and to build and deploy solutions / curriculum that enhance organization capability and sustained performance across functional, professional, and leadership development domains.
- Review current learning solutions and renovate as appropriate; optimize ROI with current third-party learning content providers.
- In partnership with the CHRO, lead creation of a TWG Leadership Philosophy and Framework; design, develop, deploy, and measure appropriate learning and development solutions.
- Design, develop, and execute programs and initiatives that support team member development, talent management, and succession planning. Own TWG’s Talent Planning process.
- Partner with HRBPs and key “change leaders” to design, develop and deploy change management strategies to support organizational change initiatives (e.g., system, process, and people), including communication plans, training programs, and team member engagement activities.
- Collaborate with HR and other cross-functional teams to ensure that Learning and Organization Development initiatives are integrated with other HR programs and processes.
- Manage direct and indirect report(s) in the functioning of Learning and Organization Development deliverables.
- Manage vendor relationships to optimize support and pricing ROI while ensuring “best in class” product, service, and team member experience.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in Learning and Organization Development: explore and test innovative ideas and solutions to drive continuous improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in industrial-organizational psychology, human development, education, human resources, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 – 12 years of progressive experience in Learning and Organization Development or a related field. Three (3) additional years of experience in lieu of a master’s degree.
- Certification in a relevant OD/LD program such as ATD Human Performance Improvement or ISPI Certified Performance Technologist.
- Experience working in a leadership role within a complex organization, preferably as Learning and Organization Development leader or similar role.
- Proven track record of successful Learning and Organization Development initiatives and outcomes.
- Experience working with diverse teams preferably in a consumer products manufacturing organization.
- Proficient in using relevant software and technology platforms, e.g., LMS configuration, e-learning authoring software, execution of virtual led instruction, etc.
- Expert understanding of Learning and Organization Development principles, theories, and practices including but not limited to organization behavior, change management, and instructional design and adult learning. Demonstrated pragmatic application of these to address a business’s Learning and Organization Development needs.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships, work collaboratively, and influence others at all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to joyfully perform at both a strategic / thought leadership as well as tactical, executional level.
- Proficiency in using Learning and Organization Development tools and technologies.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Primary work activities are within an office environment.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, standing, and twisting in an office environment.
- Routine trips to TWG facilities and corporate offices primarily located in California are expected; overnight travel is expected approximately 20% of the time.
COMPENSATION
- Hiring Salary Range Posted: $166,300 - $225,000.
- Actual compensation will be based on factors such as experience; skills, knowledge, and abilities; education; and other position related factors.
