Reporting to the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis, the Senior Financial Analyst (SFA), Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) will have an important role on the Finance team as well as being a key business partner to multiple cross-functional stakeholders. In addition the SFA, FP&A will have a significant role in budgeting and forecasting, collaborate cross-functionally on strategic initiatives while providing value added analytics on activities such as month end variance to forecast and various ad hoc projects involving financial modeling.
What you’ll do:
- Key contributor to the planning, coordination, and development of quarterly and annual budgets, ensuring forecasts are accurate, comprehensive, and completed as per established timelines.
- Provide support for the evaluation of new business development opportunities using financial modeling that requires strong business acumen and strategic thinking.
- Prepare KPI analyses and financial decision support models to proactively identify trends and evaluate opportunities to improve business performance and achieve growth targets.
- Design, develop, and maintain sophisticated reports within Workday Adaptive Planning, leveraging advanced features such as web reporting, dashboards, matrix reports, calculated fields, and custom reports. Tailor these reports to provide insight on companywide initiatives for both finance and non-finance stakeholders, ensuring clarity and accessibility.
- Consolidate, reconcile, and analyze Regional and National forecasts for corporate submissions - includes income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow projections.
- Lead monthly and quarterly management reporting, by conducting variance analysis of monthly and quarterly results versus plan and prior year for preparation of corporate reports that provide key insights through the business review process.
- Manage management reporting process to ensure stakeholders receive timely and insightful analytics to support decision making. Includes the preparation and distribution of monthly internal reports.
- Collaborate with cross-functional business partners at all levels of the organization to further financial understanding of business and influence decision making.
- Collect, organize, and analyze significant amounts of information from multiple sources to develop and maintain dashboards to communicate actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Assist the business in the ideation of new analytics initiatives ranging from descriptive, diagnostic, predictive to prescriptive.
- Recommend and implement tools and processes to streamline financial planning, analysis, and reporting at both Regional and National levels.
- Provide ad hoc financial analyses and reporting as required.
What you bring:
- Post secondary education in accounting or finance.
- Accounting designation, MBA, CFA, CBV or similar preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience with growing responsibility in financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
- Proven ability to synthesize financial information into a concise story and communicate it effectively.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Solid understanding of Workday reporting tools and extensive experience with Workday Adaptive Planning, including report development, data visualization, and analysis.
- Knowledge of SQL for querying databases and experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, coupled with a motivated self-starter attitude, curiosity, and a desire to initiate change and challenge the status quo.
- Clear, concise verbal and written communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal skills that enable gaining the trust and confidence of senior leadership
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Self-motivated with the ability and initiative to multitask and manage competing priorities under tight and changing deadlines.
- Exposure to ADDs considered an asset.
