Job Summary:

The successful candidate follows the established process and procedures to create and update product and material specifications across SunOpta. This includes overseeing projects from start to finish within the specification system, coordinating cross-functionally with R&D, Quality Assurance, Procurement, Master Data and Operations to promote continuity in the review and approval process.  This is a key role within the new item commercialization process to ensure standards are communicated and met upon first production. A strong communicator with great organizational skills, attention to detail, systems proficiency, and efficiency will be successful in this role.

 

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Follow the established process to ensure accurate, timely and complete specifications.
  • Route specifications including finished goods, intermediate goods, ingredients, packaging materials, and formulas through the system according to the project timeline.
  • Submit finished and intermediate good specifications for review by the cross functional team.
  • Communicate the status of specifications to cross functional teams, ensuring awareness of at-risk projects.
  • All other duties, as assigned.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have an affinity for processes, systems, and data.
  • Implemented or worked within a specification system a plus.
  • Associate's Degree in any field.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree.   

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Detail oriented, accurate and excellent record keeping skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, good judgment, decisive, comfortable working with a team.
  • Ability to handle complexity, multiple projects and requests, and short timelines.
  • Strong drive for results and ability to bring projects to completion.
  • Strong system acumen and computer skills.
  • Ability to exercise judgment in handling confidential proprietary information.

 

Additional Considerations:

  • Travel Expectation:  Up to 5%.
  • This position will be at the Corporate Office in Eden Prairie, MN. 
  • Relocation or international remote working arrangements (outside of the US) will not be considered.
