 We are a seeking a Senior Buyer to join our team at Hollingshead Mixer Company. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and under minimal supervision, participate in the selection of, and be responsible for the management of reliable sources of supply to ensure a steady flow of quality products at the lowest possible cost. The position reports directly to Purchasing Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Generates and publishes Request for Quotes (RFQ)
• Reviews RFQ responses and may be involved with negotiation of prices.
• Participates in the supplier selection process.
• Creates and manages purchase orders.
• Escalates/de-escalates deliveries according to changing needs.
• Responsible for interfacing with supplier base.
• Responsible for planning and procuring assigned commodities.
• Responsible for inventory analysis and forecast analysis.
• Manage supplier backorders.
• Responsible for due-date maintenance.
• Responsible for inventory levels for assigned commodities.
• Assists in cost savings and avoidance through negotiation and resourcing.
• Assist suppliers with prints, and engineering specifications as required.
• Assist suppliers as required to improve supplier performance rating.
• Responsible to work with supplier to disposition discrepant material.
• Visits supplier’s facility to validate their ability to meet quality and capacity.
• Responsible for results of PPV (Purchase Price Variance).
• Works with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice discrepancies. 

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of five years purchasing experience in a production environment.
• Strong computer and communications skills required (Word & Excel)
• ERP/MRP experience
• Able to work in a production environment.
• Be a team player as well as able to work independently.
• Valid Indiana Driver’s license.
• Performs related duties as assigned.

• Pay will be “Commensurate with Experience”.
