Job Title:  Physical Scientist I – GIS Analyst 

Job Summary:
GIS Analyst I Managed Business Solutions is seeking a GIS Analyst I to support geospatial analysis, with an emphasis in cartography and GIS analysis to join our Program Team with the U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) Office of Trust Services Division of Water and Power (DWP) Branch of Dam Safety located in Lakewood, CO. This is a full-time/salaried and benefited opening slated to start as soon as possible.

Duties/Responsibilities:
•    Work with the team located in Lakewood, CO
•    Works with lead to understand the scope, requirements and objectives for analysis of geospatial data, development of cartographic products, and automation of geospatial tasks using geospatial tools such as ESRI ArcGIS, ERDAS Imagine and scripting tools (Python, AML, VBA, JavaScript, etc.)
•    Will work with a team for QA/QC of data
•    Will help to support the DWP’s efforts
•    The position will communicate directly with internal Bureau professionals on a day-to-day basis 
•    Other duties as assigned 

Required Skills/Abilities: 
•    Demonstrated understanding of the physical phenomena governing Geospatial technologies.
•    Demonstrated interest in water resource, diversion, impoundment or power generation or distribution systems.
•    Demonstrated skill in conceiving, planning and problem solving in areas of considerable scope and complexity requiring unconventional or novel approaches and sophisticated techniques is required.
•    Ability to work within a team environment yet be able to work independently.
•    Ability to work directly with federal clientele or Tribal members.
•    Demonstrated excellence in both written and verbal communication.
•    Sensitivity to cultural and other equal opportunity related phenomena.
•    Ability to take direction from multiple team members/coordinators/managers/clientele.

Education and Experience:
•    Bachelor of Science or Art degree in Physics, Hydrology, Geology, Geography, Geospatial Information Systems, Geospatial Architecture, Geophysics, Computer Science, Chemistry, Math, Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, Engineering or other applicable technical field.
