Title: Geophysical Survey Fellow

Location: Ireland, Northern Ireland

Role Summary:

Scantech Geoscience Ltd. provides specialist geophysical surveys and consultancy to the engineering and construction sectors for infrastructure and renewable energy projects in Ireland and elsewhere. The surveys obtain vital subsurface information which provides the design engineering teams with better certainty on below ground conditions including the presence of obstacles, buried tanks, underground pipes and cables, voids, soft ground or other hazards.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Observe geophysical surveying projects at various locations around Ireland and Northern Ireland
• Shadow and interact with the geophysical survey crews
• Complete proper trainings in a timely manner
• Comply with all safety and standard procedures

• Performs other duties as assigned

RequiredSkills/Abilities:

• Able to both collaborate with a team and perform duties independently.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be a Sealaska shareholder, descendant of a shareholder, or spouse of a shareholder.

• Ability and willingness to travel internationally
• Commit to 8-week program timeline (2 weeks in Alaska, 6 weeks in Ireland and Northern Ireland)
• Must have a valid passport

• Legally authorized to work in the United States

Education and Experience:

• Must be age 18 or older at time of fellowship.

• Must be currently enrolled in post-secondary school/program or a recent graduate (1-2 years).

Preferred:

• At least a 2.5 GPA
• Strong critical thinking and research skills
• Self-starter with ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment

Physical demands:

Fellowship Environment:

• While performing the duties of this role, the fellow will primarily be in an outdoor setting. The noise level in the fellowship environment is usually minimal.
