Title:  Health, Safety, Quality, and Environment (HSEQ) Fellow

 

Location:  Ireland, Causeway Geotech Limited

 

Role Summary:

As the HSEQ fellow, you will have the opportunity to observe and learn about the implementation of the HSEQ management controls and procedures within Causeway Geotech Ltd. Your role will be to learn, take notes, and ask questions to move forward within proposed timescales. Along with the rest of the team, you will learn how to deliver projects for clients on small to large-scale construction projects.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Learn to balance HSEQ matters
  • Gain familiarity with devising and maintaining procedures, processes, standards, and specifications
  • Assist with site safety inspections
  • Observe accident investigations conducted by the H&S team
  • Gather information related to audits as required; provide support to plan and internally report on audit findings

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Able to both collaborate with a team and perform duties independently
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be a Sealaska shareholder, descendant of a shareholder, or spouse of a shareholder
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally
  • Commit to 8-week program timeline (2 weeks in Alaska, 6 weeks in Ireland)
  • Must have a valid passport
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

 

Education and Experience:

  • Must be age 18 at time of hire
  • Must be currently enrolled in post-secondary school/program or a recent graduate (1-2 years)

 

Preferred:

  • At least a 2.5 GPA
  • Strong critical thinking and research skills
  • Self-starter with ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment

PhysicalDemands:

  • Must be able to perform computer-based tasks and processing for up to 8 hours, including sitting or standing, mousing, interacting with information on a computer monitor.
  • Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move 25 pounds regularly.
  • Bending or standing as necessary.

 

Fellowship Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this fellowship, the fellow will primarily be in an office setting. The noise level in the environment is usually minimal.
  • Occasional travel to construction sites
