Title:   NESI Marketing Fellow

 

Location: New England Seafood International - Chessington, England

 

Role Summary:

Spending time with our Marketing department will provide an understanding of consumer preferences, development and marketing of both our own-brand and retail products, as well as gaining knowledge of marketing insights data and analytics.

 

This immersive experience is designed to provide multiple opportunities to gain insight into the diverse field of marketing and to provide resources to support the fellow’s research and development project.

 

This fellowship will provide the successful applicant an opportunity to spend time in a fast-paced manufacturing business based out of London, UK. Additional benefits of this program include expanding leadership skills and business knowledge at an international level.

 

Learning Outcomes:

  • Gain knowledge of analyzing category insight data to identify consumer trends within the seafood category, helping to identify and pinpoint the future growth opportunities for NESI
  • Exposure to the new product development process
  • Understanding and application of marketing techniques used for both our own-brand and private-label products produced by NESI
  • Knowledge of E-commerce management
  • Exposure to key business projects
  • Development of business acumen and leadership skills

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Interested in Marketing
  • Able to both collaborate with a team and perform duties independently
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be a Sealaska shareholder, descendant of a shareholder, or spouse of a shareholder
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally
  • Commit to 8-week program timeline (2 weeks in Alaska, 6 weeks in the UK)
  • Must have a valid passport
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

 

Education and Experience:

  • Must be aged 18 at time of hire
  • Must be currently enrolled in post-secondary school/program or a recent graduate (1-2 years)

 

Preferred:

  • At least a 2.5 GPA
  • Strong critical thinking and research skills
  • Self-starter with ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to perform computer-based tasks and processing for up to 8 hours, including sitting or standing, mousing, interacting with information on a computer monitor.
  • Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move 25 pounds regularly.
  • Bending or standing as necessary.

 

Fellowship Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this role, the fellow will primarily work in an office setting. The noise level in the fellowship environment is usually minimal.
