Job Title: Tendering Engineer

 

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Tendering Engineer to join our team in an exciting, impactful role. This is a unique opportunity for a technical professional with a flair for strategy and detail, eager to play a pivotal role in securing new business opportunities. You'll be responsible for developing and managing tenders and proposals, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure competitive, high-quality submissions.

 

Responsibilities

 

Tender Management

  • Manage the complete tendering process, including prequalification, preparation, submission, and post-tender clarifications.
  • Manage the registration of online client proposal portals.
  • Analyse tender documents to understand project scope, technical requirements, and commercial terms.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to collect necessary inputs and ensure timely tender submission.

Proposal Development

  • Develop competitive and comprehensive technical and commercial proposals.
  • Liaise with engineering, procurement, and operations teams to prepare accurate cost estimates and delivery schedules.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with tenders.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Collaborate with clients to clarify technical and commercial requirements.
  • Foster relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotes and ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Work closely with the business development team to align tender strategies with market opportunities.

Compliance and Documentation

  • Ensure all submissions meet company standards and client specifications.
  • Maintain records of all tender documents, proposals, and correspondence for future reference.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations, standards, and best practices.

Continuous Improvement

  • Analyse tender outcomes and identify areas for improvement in future submissions.
  • Contribute to the development of standardized templates and processes to enhance efficiency.
  • Monitor market trends to identify opportunities for innovation and competitive advantage.

Business Events

  • Attend and exhibit at industry relevant events and conferences, both in the UK and overseas.

Business and Operational Involvement

While the main responsibilities and day-to-day tasks will be focused on the tendering, there is also the opportunity to be involved in the wider operations of the business, for example assisting with in-field operations both remotely and in person offshore, assisting with mobilisation and demobilisation activities, and input into equipment development and planning.

 

Experience and qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical/Civil Engineering, Geology, Geophysics, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in tendering, proposals, or a similar role within the offshore engineering or construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of technical specifications, project management, and commercial terms.
  • Proficiency in tendering software, CRMs, MS Office, and data analysis tools.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
