Purpose:
The Product Logistics Manager oversees all aspects of product logistics, including customer relations, reporting, product shipment scheduling and coordination, inventory management, and regulatory compliance. This role ensures the efficient and effective movement of products from our centers to our storage facilities and customers while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and regulatory adherence.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Own all customer relations, ensuring timely, accurate, and professional responses to inquiries and complaints. Implement strategies to manage and resolve complaints effectively in coordination with Regulatory, Quality, and Operations departments.
- Lead and oversee the scheduling, coordination, and documentation of all product shipments.
- Manage and maintain product and sample inventories, ensuring accurate tracking, reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Develop and implement reporting systems to track logistics performance metrics and provide regular updates to senior management.
- Collaborate with internal departments to streamline logistics operations and ensure efficient product movement. Address and mitigate logistical challenges.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry standards. Conduct regular audits of logistics processes and implement improvements.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers, testing labs, and storage facilities to ensure seamless coordination and communication.
- Oversee the process of sample testing, track results, and address discrepancies promptly.
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance staff understanding of logistics operations and regulatory compliance.
- Support finance/accounting with accounts payable/receivable requirements related to product inventory. Ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Supervise the Product Logistics Specialist, providing guidance and support to ensure effective performance and professional development.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- In-depth knowledge of logistics and supply chain management principles, including inventory management, shipment scheduling, and document processing.
- Comprehensive understanding of industry regulations and compliance standards, particularly in the healthcare, pharmaceutical, or blood/plasma sectors.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills, with the ability to manage and resolve complaints professionally and effectively.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for inventory tracking, and logistics software.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex logistics data and make informed decisions.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with vendors and internal departments.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to train and develop staff.
- Ability to adapt to changes and work in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field, or a minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, preferably in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industries.
- Previous experience in a managerial role with a focus on logistics or supply chain operations is required.
