About the Job:

The LTL Freight Packer packs or packages a wide variety of products and materials by hand and to ensure the items make it safely to their destinations.

In This Role, You Will:

• Loads materials and products into package processing equipment.
• Cleans containers, materials, supplies, or work areas, using cleaning solutions and hand tools.
• Records product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records.
• Examines and inspects containers, materials, and products to ensure that packaging specifications are met.
• Measures, weighs and counts products and materials.
• Marks and labels containers, container tags, or products using marking tools.
• Removes completed or defective products or materials, placing them on moving equipment such as conveyors or in specified areas such as loading docks, wrap completed pallets
• Transports packages to proper shipping companies to deliver.
• Assembles, lines, and pads cartons, crates, and containers, using hand tools.
• Photo Documentation of shipments
• All other duties and projects assigned

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• No related work experience required
• Forklift experience is preferred
• Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) knowledge is preferred
• Food Safety and Defense / HAACP knowledge is preferred
• Knowledge and ability to work with bar code scanner is preferred 

Location:

• This is an in-office role based in Vandalia, IL
