About the Job:

The Director, Sales will have the primary responsibility for leading and managing the sales team to achieve revenue targets and drive business growth. This role involves developing and executing sales strategies, managing key accounts, and ensuring the team meets or exceeds sales goals. The Director, Sales will work closely with senior leadership to align sales objectives with overall business unit goals and will play a key role in shaping the business unit’s sales approach and market presence.

 

In This Role, You Will Provide:

 

  • Strategy Development:
    •  Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve company revenue targets and growth objectives.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead, mentor, and manage the sales team, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional development.
    • Set clear sales targets and performance metrics, monitor progress, and conduct regular performance reviews with team members.
    • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Market Analysis:
    • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities and adjust sales strategies accordingly.
  • Client Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders, addressing any issues or concerns to ensure high levels of satisfaction.
  • Sales Forecasting:
    • Prepare and manage sales forecasts, budgets, and reports, providing regular updates to senior management on sales performance and market conditions.
  • Collaboration:
    •  Work closely with other departments such as marketing, product development, and customer service to ensure a cohesive approach to sales and customer engagement.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Continuously evaluate and improve sales processes and practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or related field Is required. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in sales, with a proven track record of success in a senior sales management role.
  • 5+ years’ recent experience with 53’, 40’ and 20’ is required.
  • Proven track record of success in B2B sales, with experience in the intermodal transportation industry highly desirable.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong understanding of logistics, supply chain management, and transportation operations.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic plans that align with company objectives.
  • Focused on achieving targets and driving business growth.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire a team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.

 

Location:

This is remote role based in the Chicago, IL area.
