         $33.98 per hr. ($35.02 per hr. second year)

JOB SUMMARY:

 

The “A” Maintenance Repairer must possess the knowledge, skills, and experience to diagnose and repair major maintenance problems.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

  1. Service overhead and service doors:
    1. Remove, repair, and replace
    2. Repair damaged door frames, track, and install new panels, doors, and springs
    3. Repair and rebuild transmissions
    4. Make all proper adjustments
    5. Replace cables
  2. Perform repairs to buildings, roads, parking areas, including:
    1. Concrete
    2. Install and repair fences
    3. Tuck pointing
  3. Inspect and repair the following:
    1. Air compressors
    2. Fluid dispensers
    3. Bus mechanical washers
    4. Ventilation equipment
    5. Bus hydraulic lifts
    6. Cranes and budget hoists, cables
    7. Buck cleaners
    8. All machinery and equipment used by the Company except hand tools
    9. Vents, bearings, and belts
  4. Perform PMs as assigned by Supervisor.
  5. Remove, repair, and install bus signs and standards.
  6. Operate snow removal equipment as needed.
  7. Accurately fill out reports when required.
  8. When operating a Company vehicle, check for fluids and perform pre-trip inspections.
  9. Direct the work of lower classified employees.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned, including any work as outlined for lower

           classifications.

  1. Accurately fill out daily work orders (hard copy and electronic).

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  1. Must pass all required written and practical tests for the position.
  2. Must possess a valid Class “B” Wisconsin Commercial Driver’s License with a “P” endorsement.
  3. Must possess a complete complement of personal tools required to perform this position.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 

  1. Ability to adapt to various working conditions and situations.
  2. Ability to maintain records in a neat, accurate, and legible manner.
  3. Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with the public and staff within all departments.
  4. Basic computer skills with the ability to enter data and complete electronic reports.
  5. Must be industrious, dependable, and able to perform work with minimal supervision, and within prescribed standards of time and quality.
  6. Must be punctual and alert.
  7. Upon hire, must be able to obtain forklift and walk behind (Big Joe) certification.
  8. Ability to use portable radios and follow proper radio procedures.
  9. Good judgement and common sense with ability to adapt to various situations.
  10. Must be professionally dressed in Company uniform.
  11. Maintain regular and acceptable attendance as determined by MTS.

 

MENTAL/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK CONDITIONS:

 

  1. Must be able to wear OSHA approved safety glasses and hearing protection.
  2. Must be able to stand, stoop, reach, bend, twist and walk for an eight-hour shift.
  3. Must be able to grasp with both hands, twist both wrists and use both arms to push, pull, hold, and carry.
  4. Must be able to lift 80 pounds from a standing position from the ground to shoulder height.
  5. Must be able to lift 50 pounds from a standing position from shoulder height to above the head.
  6. Must be able to see, with corrective lenses, if necessary, to observe work and aid in hand/eye coordination.
