As our Marketing and Communications Coordinator, you’ll play a vital role in shaping and amplifying our brand’s voice. Job Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Develop and implement communication strategies to promote the organization's mission, initiatives, and events.
  • Create engaging content for internal and external communications, including newsletters, press releases, social media posts, and website updates.
  • Manage the organization's social media presence and online reputation.
  • Coordinate the production and distribution of marketing materials, such as brochures, flyers, and promotional items.
  • Assist in organizing and executing events, including conferences, webinars, workshops, and community outreach programs.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for event vendors, sponsors, and participants.
  • Coordinate logistics for events, including venue selection, catering, audiovisual setup, and attendee registration.
  • Prepare event budgets, track expenses, and ensure events stay within budgetary limits.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all communication channels.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of communication strategies and event outcomes.
  • Handle inquiries from media, partners, and the public, and facilitate interview requests or public appearances.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in communication and event management.
  • Elevated level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality, with excellent communication and people skills.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.

 

Job Requirements & Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field.
  • Proven experience in communications, public relations, or event coordination.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for different audiences.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and social media platforms.
  • Proficiency in full Microsoft Office suite. 
  • Experience in website management. 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in graphic design using Adobe Creative Suite or similar graphic design software.
  • Experience with research using data analytics software· Past experience in event planning and execution, a plus. 
  • Must possess or obtain a valid TWIC card and valid driver's license.
  • Must pass a drug screen, physical, and background check.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

Physical Requirements

 

  • Travel may be required to attend off-site meetings, site visits, or site photo shoots.
  • During events, coordinators may need to stand or walk for extended periods, especially during setup, registration, and networking activities.
  • Setting up event materials such as banners, signage, and promotional items may involve lifting and carrying lightweight to moderate-weight objects.
  • Operating event equipment or setting up audiovisual (AV) materials may require manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
  • Ability to see details on event materials, signage, and screens.
  • Periods of desk work that require sitting for extended durations.
