OT Analytics Specialist
Summary of the role:
At Kinetik, we believe in pushing the boundaries of automation and data integration to foster innovation and empower our people. As an OT Analytics Specialist at Kinetik, you will support and optimize company OT software, ranging from telecoms to SCADA to business analytics. Integrate SCADA, real-time sources, databases, business systems, and third-party APIs into meaningful tools. As well as utilize technical skills to navigate systems and put data to work; with the overall goal to champion projects to improve safety, awareness, efficiency, and simplicity.
Responsibilities:
The roles for this position are divided into two sections, Base Business and Projects:
Projects: (Partner with the OT Analytics Manager)
- Pursue integration projects that link our business and OT data into a common architecture, enabling comprehensive data accessibility and analysis.
- Collaborate with different departments to align OT systems with business and operational requirements.
- Develop code, programs and methods that facilitate task automation and business processes.
- Support cybersecurity efforts to protect OT systems from potential threats.
- Document processes, system configurations, and procedures to support training and knowledge transfer.
- Leverage SQL and other database programming skills to support applications and integrations.
- Identify and prototype new industry best practices and new technologies.
- Expand and deploy legacy and prototype equipment in our OT lab.
Base Business: (Own and drive the process)
- Work with multiple departments to commission and deploy new electronic flow computer software objects to match field equipment deployments.
- Maintain an inventory of over 3000 EFM devices, ensuring that our software model remains in-step with changes in our field infrastructure.
- Assist field personnel with remote troubleshooting of end device outages; proactively and reactively support:
- Debug and identify cabling issues

- Resolve end device network issues
- Resolve I/O Server issues
- Resolve SCADA Object issues
- Isolate and correct HMI issues
- Use existing telecom tools to monitor and restore our systems from outages; develop your own tools to assist everyone.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users and respond to system issues as needed.
- All other duties as assigned
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in scripting languages (e.g., C#, Python, PowerShell, VBA, QuickScript.NET) for automation tasks.
- Be able to configure the windows operating system to support automation tasks.
- Showcase advanced skills and projects using MS Excel, including macros, queries, or pivot tables.
- Understand networking concepts and industrial network protocols.
- Strong communication skills for interaction with internal teams and external partners.
Working Conditions:
- Field work will involve walking and standing on rough terrain with uneven and slippery surfaces.
- The noise level in the work environment is generally quiet to moderate but may regularly require exposure to loud noises from machinery.
- Will be required to regularly drive to other field facilities within their assigned region (West Texas/ Eastern New Mexico).
- Will regularly use a computer to create, record, store, revise and save documentation needed to perform their role.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
- Ability to work effectively in all working conditions noted above.
- Able to lift and carry up to 25-50 lbs. in a safe manner.
- Ability to talk, listen and speak clearly on a telephone and in-person.
- Ability to possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
- Local candidates must live within a150 mile radius of Pecos, TX. Non-local candidate must be willing to travel 15% to Kinetik facilities in West Texas.
