General Function
The Assistant Program Instructor will be primarily responsible for providing quality assistance and support to sports programs and events, while maintaining a safe, non-competitive environment for YMCA participants/members.
Know How
Ø No previous experience required.
Ø Must be a minimum of 16 years of age and have a means of transportation.
Ø Ability to communicate effectively with sports coaches, staff and parents of youth sports participants.
Ø Must have organizational and human relations skills in order to provide adequate support to sports programs.
Ø Must possess/acquire knowledge of all aspects of the particular sports league.
Ø Basic knowledge of the phases of physical education for all age groups served.
Ø Visually inspect participation space and equipment for safety.
Ø Current certifications in First Aid, Safety & Risk Management, Child Abuse Prevention and New Employee Orientation or the ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
