Job Opportunity: Aquatics Coordinator at OrthoIndy YMCA

Location: OrthoIndy YMCA
Position: Full-time

Overview:
The Aquatics Coordinator ensures a safe aquatic environment for staff and patrons while maintaining the facility. This role includes supervision, training, and overseeing the daily operations of the Aquatics Department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure participant safety and reduce hazards in aquatic areas.
• Lead and coordinate lifeguard schedules and in-service training.
• Maintain pool chemical logs and perform daily testing.
• Oversee lifeguards, slide attendants, and pool usage records.
• Enforce safety policies and emergency procedures.
• Assist with facility maintenance and staff training.

Qualifications:

• 18 years or older.
• 1-2 years of lifeguard experience (YMCA preferred).
• Current YMCA or Red Cross Lifeguard certification, CPR, First Aid, LGI, and CPO certifications.
• Ability to swim 500 yards and pass lifeguard skills test.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of pool maintenance and aquatic programs.
