Job Opportunity: Aquatics Coordinator at OrthoIndy YMCA

Position: Full-time
Overview:
The Aquatics Coordinator ensures a safe aquatic environment for staff and patrons while maintaining the facility. This role includes supervision, training, and overseeing the daily operations of the Aquatics Department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure participant safety and reduce hazards in aquatic areas.
- Lead and coordinate lifeguard schedules and in-service training.
- Maintain pool chemical logs and perform daily testing.
- Oversee lifeguards, slide attendants, and pool usage records.
- Enforce safety policies and emergency procedures.
- Assist with facility maintenance and staff training.
Qualifications:
- 18 years or older.
- 1-2 years of lifeguard experience (YMCA preferred).
- Current YMCA or Red Cross Lifeguard certification, CPR, First Aid, LGI, and CPO certifications.
- Ability to swim 500 yards and pass lifeguard skills test.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of pool maintenance and aquatic programs.
