General Function: Under the direction of the Center Aquatics Director, the Associate Aquatics Director will supervise and manage the aquatic programs at the Fishers YMCA. This role combines hands-on responsibilities (50% of the time) with administrative duties (50% of the time).
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the aquatics department
- Develop, promote, and assess aquatic programs
- Manage staff scheduling, training, and supervision
- Ensure safety standards and financial operations align with organizational goals
- Engage with members and program participants on the pool deck
- Lifeguard and teach swim lessons as needed
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least 2 years of leadership experience in aquatics
- Current certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguarding
- Strong skills in personnel management, program planning, and administrative tasks
- Team-oriented leadership style
Principal Activities:
- Act as a First Responder in emergencies
- Manage departmental budget and meet financial targets
- Select, train, and supervise staff
- Promote YMCA goals and evaluate programs
- Prepare reports and assist with Center supervision and public relations
- Contribute to the Annual Campaign and community outreach
