DELIVERY SUPERVISOR CDDV
POSITION SUMMARY:
Ensure the reliable and efficient delivery of all products scheduled for distribution, manage drivers, and handle customer delivery issues.
REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following responsibilities are general duties that a particular employee in this position may or may not be required to perform. The actual duties required of this position will vary.
- Interact with Sales and Dispatch Departments to ensure dependable delivery service.
- Maximize delivery efficiencies by achieving daily case targets and daily customer stop targets.
- Ensure proposed scheduling of personnel.
- Manage driver check-in and check-out procedures.
- Review and investigate previous day’s results as necessary.
- Complete and review daily route surveys.
- Follow up on merchandising performance by drivers.
- Respond to all driver issues.
- Manage driver returns and breakage on trucks.
- Manage/respond to customer issues.
- Interact with Warehouse/Dispatch/Sales Departments relative to issues and resolution.
- Maintain daily performance log, report warehouse loading results.
- Document and investigate all driver accidents, personal injuries reports.
- Ensure all company policies are communicated and followed.
- Inspect company vehicles and equipment regularly.
- Performs other duties as required.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION:
- Equivalent of (1) Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or closely related field and minimum of 2 years of directly applicable experience as a delivery driver, sales representative and/or sales manager; OR (2) 7 years of directly applicable experience as a delivery driver, sales representative and/or sales manager.
- CDL/DOT card.
- Must maintain a valid Driver’s License.
- Experience developing comprehensive strategies, business and sales plans, and schedules.
- Three years experience recruiting, hiring, leading, and managing performance for an outside delivery/sales team.
- Experience with MS Office including Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Previous experience in a union environment.
