L&D Specialist/Office Coordinator
Security Benefit is looking for a Learning & Development Specialist and Office Coordinator to join our Human Resources team! SB associates are working a hybrid schedule with both remote and on-site work. This position will work in our Overland Park, Kansas office. You may be expected to travel to our Topeka, KS home office on occasion as business needs require.

What Does the Job Look Like?
The L&D Specialist and Office Coordinator has responsibilities in the areas of Learning & Development for all Security Benefit team members, and office administration for the Overland Park office location.
Learning & Development Support for all Security Benefit Team – 60%
- Monitor training and performance management progress by generating detailed reports in Excel.
- Analyze and summarize survey data to provide actionable insights for the HR Leadership Team.
- Work with HR Business Partner team to accomplish the Learning & Development team goals.
- Act as a backup presenter for the New Employee Orientation as part of Learning & Development initiatives.
- Host virtual, company-wide training sessions, managing pre- and post-training communications and conducting survey data analysis to assess effectiveness.
- Prepare and deliver comprehensive monthly Learning & Development metrics reports.
- Assist the Director of Learning & Development in designing and implementing leadership development programs.
- Partner with the HCM team to manage Learning & Development components within the HRIS system.
- Maintain and update the Learning & Development Hub page within the HRIS to ensure accuracy and relevance.
- Support the Director, Learning & Development in executing various ongoing initiatives and projects.
- Travel to Topeka occasionally for HR and Learning & Development initiatives and engagement.
Office Administration for Overland Park Office – 40%
- Ensure a friendly, welcoming, and engaging environment for staff and visitors.
- Work with security to ensure visitors and staff follow safety guidelines.
- Work with the HR Employee Experience Team to ensure the OP office is a premium employment brand and place to work.
- Ensure new staff working at the Overland Park office feel welcomed, included, and assimilated into the office, familiarizing them with the office space, providing necessary equipment, and guiding them through general location policies and procedures to ensure a smooth transition into their new role.
- Responsible for ensuring location wide thoughtful, positive communication regarding office notices and events.
- Be the liaison between HR and team members at the OP office.
- Perform general administrative office support functions with regards to mail, room reservations, document management, and other administrative duties.
- Handle reconciliation and processing of Overland Park office invoices and expenses.
- Assist with budget preparation and proposals for the Overland Park office.
- Develop reports and prepare presentations as needed.
- Manage the use of equipment and supplies within the office.
- Maintaining the office ensuring public facing spaces, break rooms, and conference rooms are clean, organized and stocked appropriately.
- Purchase office and engagement supplies as needed.
Who Are You?
- College degree (preferred);
- Minimum 1 year experience with Learning and Development programs;
- A passion for leadership development and training;
- Minimum 1 year experience with LMS, HRIS, or other relevant information systems;
- Proven office management or administrative experience;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently with general direction;
- Demonstrated problem solving skills;
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Office 365 products;
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with expertise in handling internal/external customers of various backgrounds and levels;
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities;
- Discretion in handling confidential documents and information;
- Demonstrated capacity to learn and complete technical and complex duties; and
- Able to work a flexible work schedule, as necessary.
