Senior AWS Engineer
Security Benefit is searching for an experienced AWS Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate may work remotely but will be required to travel to our home office in Topeka, Kansas or our New York office periodically. SB associates are working in a hybrid environment with both remote and on-site work.

What Does the Job Look Like?
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with AWS services, cloud architecture, and a strong understanding of best practices in cloud security and performance optimization. You will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based solutions that drive our business objectives.
- Design and deploy scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems on AWS.
- Manage and monitor AWS resources to ensure optimal performance and cost-efficiency.
- Implement security best practices to protect sensitive data and applications.
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize applications for the cloud.
- Automate deployment processes using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like CloudFormation/Terraform & Config management tools like Ansible
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to AWS services and cloud infrastructure.
- Stay updated with the latest AWS features, services, and best practices.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
- Create & maintain documentation of automated infrastructure build & release processes to comply with audit requirements & best practices
Who Are You?
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, with a strong focus on AWS.
- Proficient in AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, etc.).
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- 5+ years of Experience in Windows and Linux OS
- Strong knowledge of networking and security protocols.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools like GitLab (or any git based tools)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate/Professional, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS SysOps Administrator) are a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with serverless architecture.
- Knowledge of database technologies (SQL, NoSQL).
- Understanding of DevSecOps practices and tools.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging solutions (CloudWatch, ELK stack).
