Security Benefit is searching for an experienced Technical Analyst to join our team. SB associates are working a hybrid schedule with both remote and on-site work.  This position will report to the Head of Business Technology Solutions and work in our home office in Topeka, Kansas, Overland Park, Kansas or remote for the ideal candidate.

What Does the Job Look Like?

The Technical Analyst II position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to an agile, customer-centric delivery model. We are seeking a talented professional who excels in fast-paced environments and is dedicated to leveraging technology for driving solutions. In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, design innovative solutions, and ensure the successful delivery of solutions that exceed customer expectations.

  • Provide technical support to internal teams and external customers, troubleshooting issues and implementing solutions promptly.
  • Analyze technical requirements and specifications provided by product managers, translating them into actionable plans for implementation.
  • Collaborate with developers and engineers to design, develop, and implement technical solutions that align with customer requirements and product goals.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of customer needs, pain points, and feedback, ensuring that technical solutions prioritize enhancing the customer experience.
  • Work closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on product goals, technical requirements, and timelines.
  • Conduct thorough testing and quality assurance procedures to ensure that technical solutions meet performance, reliability, and usability standards.
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement in product functionality, performance, and user experience, and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of our products.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, diagrams, and user guides, to facilitate understanding and collaboration across teams.
  • Perform all administration processes (including Workflows, Validation Rule, Approval Process, Assignment Rule, Business Rules, list generation).
  • Work with the server, storage, and networking teams to validate configuration of application infrastructure as well as baseline performance and computing needs.
  • Work with various functions and end users to identify, document, and communicate standard business processes as they are related to the database.
  • Work with management to identify new and creative opportunities to leverage existing or future solutions.
  • Support the evaluation of new software and upgrades for appropriateness.
  • Work with other internal teams on root cause analysis and resolution.
  • Monitor designated applications and take corrective action to prevent or minimize system down time.

 

Who Are You?

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, or related field preferred.
  • 2-4 years with SQL in a Relational Database Environment (Microsoft SQL preferred) including skills in Structured Query Language (SQL) programming language with ability to code complex SQL.
  • Strong communication, documentation, prioritization, and training skills.
  • Experience configuring and setting up servers, storage, and networks a plus (including exposure to grid computing).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical requirements and develop effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment, with a focus on delivering customer-centric products and iterating based on feedback.

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment, with a strong commitment to achieving team goals and delivering high-quality results.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills along with presentation skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks of highly varied nature in a timely manner.
  • Strong business acumen and existing knowledge of the financial services industry.
  • In depth knowledge of Security Benefit & Zinnia products and services preferred.
