HRIS Specialist
The Fund for Public Health in New York City (FPHNYC) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that is dedicated to the advancement of the health and well-being of all New Yorkers. To this end, in partnership with the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), FPHNYC incubates innovative public health initiatives implemented by DOHMH to advance community health throughout the city. It facilitates partnerships, often new and unconventional, between government and the private sector to develop, test, and launch new initiatives. These collaborations speed the execution of demonstration projects, effect expansion of successful pilot programs, and support rapid implementation to meet the public health needs of individuals, families, and communities across New York City.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Are you a detail-oriented problem solver with a knack for helping others? We’re looking for a dedicated HRIS Specialist to join our HR team. In this role, you’ll be the go-to person for supporting our HR systems and ensuring everything runs smoothly. Your objective will be to assist our team and ensure our HR systems are effective, user-friendly, and well-maintained.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Customer Service & Troubleshooting: Offer top-notch support to our HR team and troubleshoot any issues with our HR systems. You'll be the friendly face people turn to for help and guidance.
- System Liaison: Act as the main contact point between our HR team, IT department, and external partners to make sure our HR systems are functioning effectively.
- Data Management: Ensure our data is accurate and well-organized, from handling payroll details to checking data consistency and integrity.
- Training: Create easy-to-follow training materials and conduct training sessions to help users get the most out of our HR systems.
- Reporting: Generate and analyze reports to provide valuable insights and ensure our systems meet all compliance standards.
- Auditing: Regularly check our data and processes to identify areas for improvement and ensure everything is up to standard.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline and automate processes to make our HR operations more efficient.
- System Updates: Work on updating and reconfiguring our HR systems as needed to keep them current and effective.
- Payroll Reconciliation: Ensure that all payroll data is accurate and reconciled properly.
- Data Integrity: Maintain the accuracy and security of our HR data across the system.
- Create Training Materials: Develop clear and useful training resources to help HR team members and system users.
- Facilitate Training: Lead training sessions to ensure everyone understands how to use the HR system effectively.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Communication & Support: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, coupled with excellent technical and interpersonal support capabilities.
- Organizational & Analytical Abilities: Highly organized with strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and analytical skills; adept at handling sensitive information discreetly.
- Independence & Adaptability: Able to work independently, make informed decisions, thrive in fast-paced environments, and eager to learn and grow while promoting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in a relevant HR or IT field preferred; experienced in creating and delivering training.
- Over 3 years’ experience of hands-on experience with HRIS systems (with a preference for Ceridian Dayforce), and database tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Experience with data analytics and stakeholder analysis/engagement.
SALARY:
- Salary range is $70, 000 to $80,000.
WORK SCHEDULE:
9:00 am – 5:00 pm

3 days Remote
