Formosa Plastics is a privately held company headquartered in Livingston, New Jersey. Our core business, producing plastic resins and petrochemicals, takes place at three wholly-owned chemical manufacturing subsidiaries located in Delaware City, Delaware, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Point Comfort, Texas.

I. POSITION OBJECTIVE

The API Inspector will assist the facility’s compliance with Regulatory requirements of PSM / RMP to ensure mechanical integrity of process equipment and piping systems. Develops and executes preventive maintenance schedules based on equipment condition, including inspections, testing, and necessary repairs to proactively address potential issues before they become critical failures.

II. MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

PSM/RMP Compliance - Provide API Authorized Inspection of fixed equipment and piping to be in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company safety, health, and RAGAGEP to align with corporate and site goals/objectives.

Initiate Inspection and Recommendations - Determine equipment and piping condition and recommend repairs to return to safe operating conditions that meet API, ASME, and RAGAGEP to achieve regulatory compliance.

Collaboration and Teamwork - Work closely with Operations, Maintenance and Inspection personnel to execute inspections in timely scheduled manner and work as a team to find solutions for inspection findings along with establishing best repair / replacement plans to return equipment and piping to service in most efficient way to assure equipment integrity.

Environmental Stewardship - Execute API Authorized Inspector activities to maintain fixed equipment and piping to all applicable laws and regulatory requirements to assure zero releases / emissions / issues to the environment.

THM - Promote cleanliness and order through the implementation of the Total House Keeping Maintenance program. Emphasize Nothing Touch Ground program and No Visual Pollution program. Maintain the plant in like new condition.

III. QUALIFICATIONS

TECHNICAL JOB CRITERIA

1. Previous Related Experience Required
10 years inspection experience (contingent on education) as well as a API Inspector certification (510, 570, 653, etc.) is required. Multi-certification preferred.

2. Technical Skills Required To Perform This Job
Visual and other senses applied to perform API compliant equipment inspection. Technical writing skills for preparing reports, making recommendations and other follow up activities resulting from inspections conducted.

3. Education (Minimal Education Needed)
High School diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of 10 years of direct job-related experience required; or Associate's degree with 8 years of direct job-related experience; or Bachelor's degree with 6 years of direct job-related experience.
