Formosa Plastics is a privately held company headquartered in Livingston, New Jersey. Our core business, producing plastic resins and petrochemicals, takes place at three wholly-owned chemical manufacturing subsidiaries located in Delaware City, Delaware, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Point Comfort, Texas.
I. POSITION OBJECTIVE
This position is responsible for the Supervision of Packaging and Shipping employees at Lolita Packaging and for the liaison between Polyolefins Product Storage & Shipping Department, Train Crew, Polyolefins Production Units and NJ for efficient Packaging, Shipping & Product Storage.
II. MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
MANAGE AND LEAD - Develop assigned areas of stewardship for each employee to create a sense of ownership and promote a good working relationship with Department personnel. Maintain knowledge of best practices and provide continuing education opportunities to personnel.
STAFF DEVELOPMENT - Maintain knowledge of best practices and provide continuing education opportunities. Develop each individual’s talents to the fullest, creating an environment that supports collaboration, cross-functional teamwork, and information sharing. Communicate, lead and motivate high-performance expectations, individual initiative, and accountability.
EQUIPMENT RELIABILITY - Provide Maintenance support to the Operating Unit which will enable the Unit to achieve smooth operation, manufacture high-quality products and avoid unscheduled process interruptions. This will be achieved by utilizing best practices, bench marking, planning, failure-root cause analysis, initiation and development of continuous improvement techniques, maintenance procedures, practices and processes.
MAINTENANCE PERFORMANCE - Successful Maintenance performance will result in a reduction of unscheduled work and toward achieving 100% planned and scheduled maintenance activities. This includes communicating and working with Operations continuously to establish equipment criticality and providing standby equipment for critical equipment. Historical files shall be established and well-maintained to allow for correct diagnoses of equipment failures and performance of equipment maintenance.
COST CONTROL - Manage Maintenance Unit costs as measured by Monthly Management Reports Analysis of cost deviations and causes of costs; initiation of cost efficiencies; identification of inefficiencies and recommendations to correct; analyze budget trends, develop and recommend budget requirements; control overtime to below 3%.
THM – Promote cleanliness and order through the implementation of the Total Housekeeping Maintenance program. Emphasize Nothing Touch the Ground program and No Visual Pollution program. Maintain the plant like new condition.
III. QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of five (5) years of direct job-related experience required.
- A minimum of (5) years' experience in a Petrochemical Facility. Shipping and Packaging experience preferred.
