Formosa Plastics Corporation, Texas, located in Point Comfort, Texas (jobsite), is looking for a full-time Process Engineer with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and 6 months related work experience. In lieu of 6 month work experience in the job offered, the employer will accept a 3 credit hours academic coursework related to Process Measurement & Control and a 3 credit hours academic coursework related to Process and Plant Design. Job duties include reviewing piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), troubleshooting polyvinyl chloride (PVC) production problems and developing action plans to solve the problems, analyzing PVC latex particle size distribution to improve PVC plastisol viscosity and fluidity, developing emulsion process to optimize the PVC production rate and reduce the production cost, designing the vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) dryer and the VCM circulation system to remove the acid content and metal ions, and conducting process safety and hazard and operability analysis.
