PRODUCT STEWARDSHIP SPECIALIST
POSITION OBJECTIVE
- Assist in the planning, design and implementation of FPC USA’s product stewardship and product quality compliance programs for the polyolefins, vinyl, specialty PVC and chlor-alkali divisions.
- Assist in the development and implementation of FPC USA’s EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) program
MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
- Coordinates FPC USA compliance with domestic, global regulations and industry standards related to product stewardship programs including:
- Food contact application and GMP compliance (FDA, EU, HPB, others)
- Chemical registration and inventory management (TSCA, REACH, others)
- Industry standards for product quality and application (UL, NSF, conflict minerals, toy safety, ISO etc.)
- Assists in responding to customer inquiries and questionnaires for product stewardship and regulatory information.
- Coordinates with operation, business, and technical divisions in developing and implementing of FPC USA’s EPR program
- Assists in review and update of FPC’s internal compliance procedures and participate in the audits of product stewardship program compliance and tracks corrective actions from audits.
- Maintains FPC USA regulatory statements, declarations and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for all branded FPC USA products.
- Provide resources to relevant FPC staff departments (e.g; product management, technical, sales, purchasing, manufacturing, customer service, and IT) regarding product stewardship requirements, and incorporate requirements into relevant business processes.
- Perform product/material specification reviews and respond to customer inquiries.
- Perform other similar and related duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS
TECHNICAL JOB CRITERIA
- 2-3 years in a chemical-related regulatory role
- Experience or knowledge in ESG beneficial
- Knowledge of FPC product portfolio beneficial
- Experience working and communicating with different staff departments (e.g.; Sales, Production, Technical, etc.)
- Knowledge of EPA and FDA regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices and food packaging considerations
- Comfortable in scientific, regulatory and technical terminology. Ability to evaluate, investigate/research, and respond to technical questions
- Strong technical writing skills and able to communicate promptly, professionally, and effectively orally and in writing
- Excellent organizational, time and project management skills to prioritize actions with the ability to adapt to new situations, and effectively handle multiple priorities/projects
- Able to evaluate situations, identify options and implement effective solutions quickly and efficiently with attention to detail
- Able to manage different perspectives using tact and diplomacy
- Able to work in a matrixed environment, address a range of functions and diverse businesses, and interact with individuals at all levels within the organization. Able to work independently and within a team
- Strong computer skills, highly proficient with Microsoft Office functions including Excel, PowerPoint, Word as well as other software analytical tools and e-mail and meeting management software. Ability to use internet and web-based resources efficiently and effectively
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Chemistry, Engineering, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Biology, or regulatory-related discipline
