Formosa Plastics is a privately held company headquartered in Livingston, New Jersey. Our core business, producing plastic resins and petrochemicals, takes place at three wholly-owned chemical manufacturing subsidiaries located in Delaware City, Delaware, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Point Comfort, Texas.

I. POSITION OBJECTIVE

To perform and document API Inspection functions including NDE testing within the FPCTX complex as required by Mechanical Integrity Inspection Group. In this position the NDE Technician is expected to become certified as API 510, API 570 or 653 Authorized Inspector by the American Petroleum Institute and/or Qualified Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing Technician as per ASNT-TC-1A.


II. QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Currently hold an ASNT-TC-1A level II certification in (PT) Penetrant Testing, (UTT) Ultrasonic Thickness Testing. Experience and knowledge in (MT) Magnetic Particle Testing and (VT) Visual Testing.
  • Knowledge of API 570, API510 and API 653 preferred.
  • Computer skills and knowledge (MS Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, GE APM System) preferred.


III. TRAINING

Will require training in Company Policies and Procedures after hire.


IV. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform NDT
  • Perform Dye-Penetrant Testing (PT)
  • Perform Ultrasonic Thickness Testing (UTT)
  • Perform Visual Testing / Inspections (VT)
  • Perform daily reports of inspections, testing, duties, etc.
  • Input field data into computer
  • Analyze computer generated reports / data
  • Train and prepare to take API certification exam for API 510, 570 and/or 653 Authorized Inspector and/or Qualified Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing Technician as per ASNT-TC-1A.
