Founded in 1978, Formosa Plastics Corporation, U.S.A. (Formosa Plastics) is a growing, vertically-integrated supplier of plastic resins and petrochemicals. COMMUNICATION REP. II
POSITION OBJECTIVE
Assists with corporate communication programs, activities and materials that project a consistent, professional and positive corporate image to stakeholders that include, but are not limited to, employees, customers, the communities in which the company operates, national and industrial news media and appropriate governmental and regulatory officials. Prepares and issues media news releases, and interviews, as/when appropriate.
Supports internal and external communication efforts of the company’s Corporate Human Resources Division, Legal Division, manufacturing subsidiaries (FPC TX, FPC LA, FPC DE), business operating divisions, the Livingston, NJ site and business-only aspects of Neumin Production, Lavaca Pipe Line and Formosa Hydrocarbons.
Monitors media for news and content relating to the company’s facilities, activities and public image, alerts and advises senior management and division heads of important developments and serves as the company’s media spokesperson in notable situations and crisis events.
MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
Assignments are primarily self-generated, as well as generated by the Manager – Communications & Sustainability, business division VPs and site VPs/General Managers.
- Design content creation for Social Media and internal & external design projects - following Brand Standard guidelines. (Website, Tradeshows, Signage, Linkedin, Facebook, Instagram)
- News releases, media relations and company spokesperson activities;
- Corporate communication procedures and requirements; media training;
- External FPCUSA.com web site and internal NJ HQ intranet home page;
- FPC USA social responsibility initiatives and account management
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Journalism, Project Management or related discipline. Additional academic coursework or professional development in project management, technical writing and publishing, multimedia
- Professional writing, speaking and presentation ( 3 years )
