Position Summary
Plan, direct, and control the internal and external plant security, plant maintenance, and machine rebuild and repair function for the facility minimizing down time to ensure achieving the maximum in efficiency of manufacturing operations. Continuous Improvement of processes and products are an ongoing function of this position.
Position Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:
• Directs and controls the security levels of the manufacturing plant and warehouse facilities.
• Directs and controls all building maintenance both internal and external for operations, and equipment ensuring that they are run as efficiently exceeding production and profit objectives.
• Directs and controls all movement and installing of machinery and equipment ensuring that it is accomplished as safely and efficiently as possible with minimum disturbance to overall plant operations.
• Monitors the needs of the plant related to machine parts determining if the parts should be purchased or made at the plant.
• Develop and maintain a preventive maintenance program for all machines, equipment, company vehicles, and lift trucks determined to need such a program ensuring that complete files of each are maintained.
• Ensure that all permits and licenses associated with the maintenance of the building, equipment and vehicles are properly procured and displayed.
• Maintain optimum inventory levels of all supplies and materials for the rebuild and maintenance departments seeking the best quality at the lowest cost.
• Develops and maintains a continuing program for improving and upgrading machines and machine parts to extend time intervals between rebuilds.
• Work with manufacturing departments to improve methods of machine feeding.
Qualifications-Education/Experience
Required:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of 3 years previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance procedures
• Strong communication skills
• Knowledge of machine rebuild and general maintenance functions
• Problem solving ability
Preferred:
• Post High School education
• Previous maintenance experience in the fastener industry
• Electrical and/or Plumbing skills
• Lean Manufacturing or similar training and experience
Travel Requirements
Less than 10%
