Role Overview: 

We are seeking a Senior International Accountant based in London to work closely and efficiently with the Director of Accounting and oversee global financial operations. This position will need you to work collaboratively both in the office and remotely. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in international accounting standards, tax compliance, and foreign exchange management and have a proven record of managing accounting functions across multiple countries. With our UK entity being our second largest audit, it is imperative that this person has substantial knowledge of UK financial statement preparation as well as compliance filings. This role requires a strategic thinker and problem-solver who thrives in a dynamic, global environment. 

 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Financial Reporting and Compliance: 
    • Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and other relevant local accounting regulations in the regions where we operate. 
    • Prepare and review consolidated financial statements, ensuring accuracy and alignment with international reporting standards. 
    • Support audits by providing necessary documentation and assisting with regulatory inquiries. 
    • Perform month-end consolidations and confirm the elimination of intercompany transactions and foreign currency translation.  
    • Review and assess month-end inventory for hardware. 
  • Tax Compliance: 
    • Assist with tax planning, transfer pricing, and filing obligations to ensure compliance with international tax regulations and reporting requirements. 
    • Collaborate with tax advisors and legal counsel to optimize tax positions and manage risks related to cross-border transactions. 
  • Foreign Exchange and Currency Management: 
    • Monitor foreign exchange exposure and coordinate with internal cash management team. 
    • Manage multi-currency transactions and adjustments in compliance with global policies. 
  • Month-End and Year-End Close Processes: 
    • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes for international subsidiaries, ensuring timeliness and accuracy. 
    • Support monthly close and internal reporting process by preparing journal entries and account reconciliations and ensuring that financial statements are following US GAAP as well as local statutory requirements focusing on global intercompany relationships and eliminations. 
    • Develop and implement accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures; recommending changes and driving process improvements. 
    • Support all global audits in close collaboration with the Director of Accounting and VP, Global Controller. 
  • Internal Controls and Process Improvement: 
    • Establish and maintain internal controls across international subsidiaries to protect assets, reduce risk, and ensure the accuracy of financial data. 
    • Identify and implement process improvements, automation, and best practices in international accounting functions. 
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: 
    • Act as a key liaison between finance, tax, legal, and business development teams to support new market entry and ongoing international growth. 
    • Provide technical accounting support and training to regional finance teams. 
 
 

About you: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, ACCA, CIMA or similar certification preferred). 
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in accounting, with at least 5 years in an international or multi-entity setting. 
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and other international accounting standards. 
  • Experience with international tax compliance and transfer pricing. 
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills. 
  • Exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-national environment. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; experience working across multiple regions and with diverse teams is a plus.
