Director of Sales Operations
The Director of Sales Operations is a senior leadership role that oversees strategy and long-term planning for the sales organization. This individual is responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies that align with company objectives, setting key performance indicators (KPIs), and forecasting and budgeting for the sales department. Oversee core sales operations people, process and technology and while driving sales ops strategy to better support and enhance the Sales team, including optimizing work processes, establishing/enhancing KPIs, and sales enablement technology/automation solutions from inception to execution
Job Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning and Goal Setting
- Develop long-term sales strategies aligned with company objectives
- Setting key performance indicators (KPIs) for the sales organization to measure success.
- Forecasting sales revenue and budgeting for the sales department to ensure alignment with company goals.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate sales strategies with marketing, finance, and product plans.
- Developing and executing sales strategies that align with business objectives and maximize sales organization effectiveness
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with various departments to ensure successful project delivery and strategy implementation
- Working closely with C-suite executives to align sales goals with overall business strategy.
- Partnering with marketing, finance, and product teams to optimize sales processes and ensure seamless execution.
- Representing sales operations in company-wide initiatives, such as process improvement projects or technology implementations.
- Drive process improvement and implement best practices on cross-functional process, such as quote to cash, renewal, lead generation, and managing reseller channel
Technology and Systems Oversight
- The Director of Sales Operations is responsible for evaluating and selecting enterprise-level sales tools and CRM systems to drive sales efficiency and productivity. This includes:
- Oversight of large-scale technology implementations and integrations to ensure seamless integration with existing systems.
- Evaluating and enhancing sales processes, systems, and reporting for improved efficiency and effectiveness on deal conversion, deal cycle time and pipeline forecasting as well as sales rep productivity
- Ensuring data integrity and security across sales platforms to maintain compliance with industry regulations.
Performance Analysis and Optimization
- The Director of Sales Operations analyzes high-level sales trends and market data to identify opportunities for improvement and optimize sales performance. This involves:
- Analyzing sales metrics and KPIs to identify areas of strength and weakness.
- Developing and implementing best practices across the sales organization to drive revenue growth.
- Collaborating with sales leadership to develop and execute strategies to address performance gaps.
- Managing relationships with colleagues, staying informed on industry trends, and maintaining a proactive role in coaching and mentoring team members
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in sales operations roles
- 5+ years leading sales ops teams within a growing organization
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, master's degree in business administration preferred
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret data.
- Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a Team in a fast-paced environment.
